The Merciless IV: Last Rites (The Merciless #4) Reviews
THE MERCILESS IV: Last Rites was a wild roller coaster, just like the first three books in the series. The reason I got into these books so much is because they are extremely entertaining. Every twist shocked me, and every horrific scene disturbed me. The writing is done well in such a way that it is incredibly easy to get absolutely sucked in and not be able to put the book down. THE MERCILESS IV, as well as the previous books, makes you go “just one more page” until you’ve suddenly read half o ...more
So today I am bringing you a very special post because I am part of the Merciless 4: Last Rites Blog Tour for Penguin Teen. Guys, I can not tell you how excited I am to be a part of this tour and how pumped I was for this book. I have read all the other books in the series and they actually helped to get me into reading horror books. I remember picking the first one up from my library and reading it and not being able to put it down because I just needed to know what was going to happen next and ...more
I'm so sad I didn't love this one like I did the other books in the series, it just seemed slow to me and I found myself not really enjoying the story as much.
The ending to me was the best part cause it was giving me the horror and gore that was continous throughout the other books, but only really appeared in the last hundred pages of this book.
I love all of the Merciless books! Danielle is a hidden gem that I think more readers should know about!
Her stories are creepy. Her covers are BEAUTIFUL!
You don’t *have* to read all four of these but you definitely want to. You almost do need to because one of the character’s appearance is really important! Just read them all, so good!
This book was slightly different than the others. The first half is slow, but a good slow burn that leads up to the final events. It’s showing you Berkeley’s hi ...more
I loved this series! I’m so sad that it’s over! I’ve read all of Danielle Vega/Rollins books and they are always amazing. Definitely read this series if you love scary books! I couldn’t put it down!
I love absolutely every entry in this series so far. The first one will forever be my favorite, but every one after it has been so good too. I loved the change in scenery from this one--we've gone from Mississippi, to a boarding school, back to Mississippi, and now to Italy. It gave everything a fresh new feel to have it set in such a different place, and I liked Berkley too (though Sofia is the best, obviously.) Mara and Harper pissed me off, but I guess that was the point.
I hope this series co ...more
This is my favorite book series by far, so to say that I was anxiously anticipating number four would be putting it lightly. As bummed as I am that this is the end of this series, I have to give credit where credit is due and say that this series ended beautifully. I can say with confidence that the stories of Sofia, Brooklyn, and now Berkley will be permanent fixtures in my book collection and will be reread many times. Something in the way Danielle writes and narrates transfixes me and pulls m ...more
